LINCOLN - Carol A. Nelson, 66, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, in Hays, KS. She was born July 18, 1955, in Salina, KS, to Floyd and Ila (Foster) Vestal.

Carol was a lifetime resident of Lincoln where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974. She provided daycare out of her home for over 20 years. Later, she worked as a bartender at the VFW Auxiliary where she was a member and was lead sales associate at the Dollar General store. Carol married John Eugene Williams in Lincoln on June 8, 1974. John passed away June 4, 2002. Carol married Steve Nelson in Lincoln on May 19, 2007.

Carol is survived by her son, Steve Williams (Vicki) of Lincoln; daughter, Angela Riley (Mitch) of Beloit, KS; grandchildren, David, Tyler, and Nicholas Williams, Trever Kirk, and Zach and Lydia Riley; step-son, Chad Nelson (Deana) of Maize, KS; step-daughter, Julie Nichols (Courtney) of Hutchinson, KS; step-grandchildren, Nathan, NaTasha, Ethan, and Trinity; sisters, Elizabeth Rideout (David) of Henderson, TX, Pam Calvin (John) of Hill Top Lakes, TX, and Verda Green of Odessa, MO; brother, Ron Vestal (Pamela) of Hearne, TX; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, John Williams.

Visitation: 1-7 p.m., Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln. Family will be present 5-7 p.m.

Funeral service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
