SALINA, KAN. - Salina Arts & Humanities is getting a boost with a new program assistant, Heather Mettlen.

Salina Arts & Humanities (SAH) announces Heather Mettlen as the agency’s new Program Assistant.

A native of Salina, Kansas, Heather brings a notable background in education and a passion for community programming. Mettlen majored in Elementary Education at Kansas State University. She most recently served as a Preschool Teacher at Love N Learn and previously as the Youth Program Coordinator at the Salina Public Library, where she supported early learning through structured programming and relationship-building with children and families.

In her role at SAH, Heather will oversee the Smoky Hill River Festival’s Artyopolis children’s area, support the Festival’s visual arts components, and assist with event administration. Alongside her River Festival duties, Heather will also support SAH public art, artist education projects, and the Arts Infusion arts education program.

Beyond to her professional pursuits, you can find her at her kids’ sports games, heading out on a long walk with a true crime podcast, or reading a suspense novel.

“Heather brings the perfect blend of community focus, service, and \ programming experience,” said Anna Pauscher Morawitz, Operations & Development Manager. “We’re excited to welcome Heather and look forward to the experience and energy she brings to Arts & Humanities’ work across Salina.”
