Salina Symphony performing at Sunset D-Day Commemoration in Abilene

Get ready to celebrate America next month, as the Salina Symphony will do so by putting together a special performance.

According to the Salina Symphony, on Saturday, June 7th the Salina Symphony will perform at Sunset D-Day Commemoration Concert in Abilene, KS. This performance will be held at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum on 200 SE. 4th St., with a full schedule of activities starting at 4:00 pm.

The event will feature an outdoor concert and showcasing patriotic/popular music from the WWII era, along with various food vendors.

With the day starting at 4:00 pm, a concert by The Blades will take place at 5:30 pm. Afterwards, the event will include an emotional Guardians of Omaha Beach Flag Ceremony at 6:15 pm and the Fort Riley Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard performing precision horse riding drills and weapons demonstrations at 6:30 and 8:00 pm.

The live performance will start at 7:00 pm, as the Ft. Riley 1st Infantry Division Band take the stage. The event will then conclude with a performance by the Salina Symphony, featuring guest artist, Samantha Rose Williams at 8:30 pm.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and take advantage of free admission to the museum exhibits, which provide rich insights into Eisenhower’s life and legacy.

Seating will limited and it highly recommended for event-goers to bring a lawn chair. Weather permitting, the event will be rescheduled to Sunday, June 8th.
