Charles Kenneth Dowell, 90, died December 3, 2022 at Pine Village, Moundridge.

He retired from CertainTeed in quality control in 1997 and had been a resident of Canton for 55 years, moving from McPherson.

He was born August 12, 1932 in El Dorado, the son of Harold Irvin and Lula (Latty) Dowell. In November of 1969, he married Patricia Lee Pence in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on January 31, 2010.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of the Canton American Legion Post #192 and the McPherson V.F.W. Post #2715. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three daughters, Heather Lee (Eric) Burch, Galva, Whitney Lee (Ron) Blaylock, Moundridge and Amber Lee Dowell (David Tripp), Canton; a sister, Lois Zeitlow, Fort Wayne, Indiana; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Empire Cemetery, Galva. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, at Olson’s Mortuary, Canton.

Memorials have been established with the Canton American Legion or the McPherson V.F.W., in care of the Olson’s Mortuary, P.O. Box 355, Canton, KS 67428.
