The Southeast of Saline softball team picked up two more big wins over Republic County on Tuesday to remain a perfect 4-0 on the year and to kick off league play at 2-0.

The Lady Trojans dominated from wire to wire in both games, collecting two mercy-rule victories over the Lady Buffs by scores of 12-1 and 14-3.

Carly Commerford pitched a gem in game one, allowing just one run on one hit in six innings of scoreless ball, fanning ten hitters in the process.

The SES bats came alive all throughout the lineup, but it was Chase Gilpin who headlined the first win driving in four runs and scoring two more in a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate.

Game two saw more of the same as the Trojans stockpiled early runs to end the affair in just five innings.

This time it was Lexi Jacobson who silenced the Republic County bats, surrendering just three runs on five hits and racking up six strikeouts to only one walk.

The top of the order lit up the Buffalo pitching, with five of the top six batters in the lineup claiming multi-hit outings, and four more adding multi-RBI days to their ledger.

SES will be back in action on Friday as the team travels to Abilene for a doubleheader with the Cowgirls.
