Albert "Bert" Gagnon

Albert “Bert” Gagnon passed away peacefully on January 26, 2021 in the presence of his family.  Bert was born to Paul and Teresina (Romme) Gagnon on April 23, 1950 and raised in Salina, Kansas.

Bert attended Sacred Heart School Grade and High School growing up where he played football and golf.  He went on to attend the University of Kansas as well as Kansas Wesleyan University. After college, Bert worked for Famous Brands Distributers as a sales representative and regional manager for 38 years.  He was a former board member for the Salvation Army Youth Football program, former member of his neighborhood association, former member of AMBUCS.

Bert was married for 45 years to his wife Anne (Erickson).  One of Bert’s biggest joys in life were his sons.  He coached them growing up in all the sports that they played and attended all their games and traveled to all the out-of-town tournaments.  He played a large part in his sons lives.

After retirement, Bert enjoyed his weekly workout classes at the YMCA and socializing with everyone.  He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Chiefs play on Sundays, watching KU basketball whenever there was a game, and especially enjoyed traveling with his wife to see their sons whenever they could.

Bert was a kind and caring person who had a great sense of humor and infectious personality.  

Bert is preceded in death by his parents Paul Gagnon and Teresina (Romme) Gagnon.  He is survived by his wife Anne, his two sons Barrett Gagnon (Chandler, Arizona) and Jack Gagnon (Manhattan, Kansas), two sisters Jean (Dennis) Cooley of Gypsum, KS and Ruth (David) Summers of Salina, KS,  three sister -in-laws: Jane Sellers of Salina, KS, Peggy (Joe) Stratton of St. Peter, MN, and Judy (Joe) Eulberg of Haymarket, VA, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021 with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m., both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the the Salina Family YMCA and St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church.
