NEW ORLEANS, La. - As the 2020 cross country season begins to wind its way towards the end of the regular season and into the postseason, the Cloud County Community College women's and men's cross country teams find themselves holding steady at the number three and number seven spots in the latest USTFCCCA NJCAA Division I Poll released on Wednesday.

The number three ranking for the CCCC women is the same spot as two weeks ago when the second poll of the season was released and comes on the heels of the next T-Bird competition as Cloud County will be in North Newton on Friday night to take part in the 2020 Bethel College Invitational. Cloud County entered the first poll of the season as the number two ranked team and has held down a top-three spot in each of the three NJCAA Division I polls released this year. As a team, Cloud County has won all three meets that they have participated in, taking the team titles at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic, Ollie Isom Invitational, and Tabor College Cottonwood Challenge.

Holding steady at number seven in the newest NJCAA Division I poll, the T-Bird men are one of five Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools that find themselves ranked in the top-10 as a lot of shakeups occurred in front of CCCC from the week two poll. Only top-ranked Iowa Central and number seven Cloud County hold the same ranking as the previous poll within the top-seven of the latest rankings, with Cloud County holding a top-10 rank throughout the year thus far.

Friday evening's Bethel College Invitational is set to serve as the regular-season finale for CCCC as the T-Birds will then two-plus weeks to prepare for the NJCAA Region VI Championships. The Championships, which are being hosted by Butler Community College, have been moved from Oct. 31 to Oct. 28 with the women's 5K set to begin at 3 p.m. and the men's 8K slated for a 3:45 p.m. start.
