Residents and visitors are gearing up for the Gypsum Flea Market and town-wide flea market and garage sale event this Friday and Saturday. Gypsum, Kansas will be the place to find great bargains and visit one of Kansas' hidden gem communities.
The Flea Market, located near Exit 14, 512 Maple St, Gypsum, will feature at least six vendors offering a diverse selection of items, including housewares, furniture, clothing, and model cars.
Hours for the Flea Market are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Additionally, K4 Garage is hosting its own sales nearby.
One of the local highlights is COOP’s 5% discount on dog food, along with soft drinks available for purchase during the event. For those with a sweet tooth, across from the Flea Market, vendors will be offering homemade goodies such as brownies, cinnamon rolls, and muffins.
The Gypsum Flea Market isn't the only sale going on. Travel the streets of Gypsum to discover other local garage sales. Parking is available along the street near the market and sales locations.
Gypsum’s sense of community and small-town charm will be on full display this weekend. Allison Lewis, a resident of Gypsum said she moved to town two years ago and loves the community.
"It's a really a wholesome community. We really care about our fellow community members," Lewis said. "We've done multiple benefits for people in community who are struggling. We're all friendly. I love living here. It's so quiet people don't bother you. It's small town living, and I love it."
Those interested in enjoying local food can also stop by Exit 14, which will have some of the best All-American food and homemade pies in the area available during the event.
With its small-town charm and community spirit, Gypsum invites visitors to take a detour this weekend, explore the Flea Market and garage sales, and experience the friendliness that makes this town special.
