Peabody - Hazel May Smith, 96, passed away March 17, 2022 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was born January 31, 1926 in Limon, Colorado to Chester Jerome and Bessie Orva (Ester) Overholser. 

She married Albert M. Smith Jr. August 22, 1944 in El Reno, Oklahoma.

 Survivors include son Albert Marion Smith, Jr. of Peabody; daughter Mary Ellen Avery of Peabody; sister Crystal Schwab of Dell City, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Predeceased by husband Albert M. Smith Jr. in 2012; daughter Anna Maria Bahre in 2018;&nbsp;brothers C. J. Overholser, Jr. and Jerry Overholser and sister Dixie Thorne.

Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Prairie Lawn cemetery in Peabody.
