CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - No. 18 ranked Kansas Wesleyan Women's Cross Country finished second at the Seminole Stampede hosted by Mount Mercy University on Saturday at the Seminole Cross Country Course.
The Coyotes finished with a team score of 70 points, just seven behind Aquinas, who is ranked No. 15 and was the team champion at the meet. The Coyotes were 35 points better than Saint Ambrose (Iowa) who was in third place.
Wesleyan had four Top 20 finishers in the event led by Kirstin Hackney who finished fifth, covering the 6K course in 22:12.8. Kierra Jensen was seventh in 22:26.1. Shelby Lingle was 16th in 23:13.9, and Josie Koppes was 19th in 23:22.4.
Makayla Little was 23rd in 23:30.2, Hailey Nordhus was 26th in 23:35.7, Madisyn Ehrlich was 29th in 23:39.8, Charlee Lind was 34th in 23:51.3, Micah Dickens was 35th in 23:52.7, Mya Schweitzer was 57th in 24:52.1, Emma McAlister was 83rd in 25:54.3, and Joni Schroeder was 128th in 27:33.2.
Missouri Baptist's Isabella Aimonette was the individual champion at the meet, covering the course in 21:34.
The Coyotes will return to action on October 25 at the Doane Blazing Tiger Invitational in Ashland, Nebraska.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Kansas Wesleyan Men's Cross Country picked up a third place finish at the Seminole Stampede hosted by Mount Mercy University on Saturday at the Seminole Cross Country Course.
The Coyotes finished better than four teams that were ranked higher than the Coyotes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll.
KWU finished with 93 points, tying with St. Francis (Illinois) but KWU won the tiebreaker as Wesleyan's sixth and seventh runners finished better than St. Francis' runners.
KWU was led by Damion Jackson who covered the 8K course in 24:46.3, finishing third overall. Ty Davidson was 16th with a 25:26.3, Austin Schaeffer was 21st in 25:33.7, Jake Cruz was 25th in 25:41.5, Ethan Ochana was 34th in 25:56, Braulio Torres was 47th in 26:12.8 and Evan Pearce was 58th to round out KWU's Top 7 finishing in 26:23.
Luke Adams was 72nd in 26:45.2, Nicolas Martinez was 77th in 26:51.3, Triston Cottone was 86th in 27:07.1, Ian Doss was 105th in 27:28.6, Tytus Reed was 115th in 27:36.5, Jude Nelson was 120th in 27:44.1, Mauricio Mendez was 123rd in 27:48.4, Cohen Greve was 139th in 28:11.6, Brodie Bradshaw was 144th in 28:23.9, Barka Bapeng, Jr. was 172nd in 29:22, Logan Topp was 182nd in 29:46.2, Will Childers was 184th in 29:53.5, and Efrain Santibanez was 217th in 31:15.7.
There were a total of 262 runners in the race.
No. 19 ranked Aquinas was the team champion with 64 points, No. 21 Cornerstone was second with 73 points, followed by KWU and St. Francis with 93. Mount Mercy was fifth.
Juan David Hernandez from Aquinas was the individual champion finishing in 24:35.9.
