March 6, 1926 - September 9, 2021

Jean L. Erickson died peacefully in Jesus on September 9, 2021 at the age of 95 years at Bethany Home in Lindsborg, Kan. She was born March 6, 1926 to Joel and Esther Isaacson in Assaria, Kansas, where she lived all her life. She married Carl E. (Mike) Erickson on September 7, 1947.

Carl built a home in Assaria where they lived their entire married life. They have four children: Vicky Kuhn (Dick), Karlene Knopf (Jerry), Debbie Gfeller Shank (Glen), Scott Erickson (Kim). They have 11 grandchildren: Christy Russell(Jeff), Angela Boob(Bryce), Justin Knopf(Lindsey), Jeff Knopf (Rachel), Jay Knopf (Taylor), Erik Gfeller (Rachel), Anna Douglass( Eric), Mikael Gfeller (Stephanie), Sarah Wendt (Aaron), Nicholyn Strome, and Clansey Strome(Emily). They have 21 great-grandchildren. Jean leaves behind a beautiful legacy of 50 family members she loved so well.

Jean worked for the Salina School District for 25 years, where she transitioned the district payroll into the world of computers. She was an active member of Assaria Lutheran Church, working for the Lord alongside many of her friends. She and her sister, Donna Sherwood, sang in the Salina Sweet Adeline Chorus. She shared the gift of a beautiful voice with others, in church and at community events, often with her brother, Bill Isaacson and sister, Donna. Jean hosted big family dinners with ease, nurtured a beautiful garden, embroidered for her family and was well known for her amazing pies. She loved her family and friends well. That love was returned many times over and now her family treasures the memories they share of a wonderful mother and grandma.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.

Jean’s life will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Assaria Lutheran Church, with Pastor Dean Apel, officiating. Interment will follow in Assaria Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial gifts will go toward the renovation of the church kitchen where Jean faithfully spent hours serving the Lord and her community. Memorials may be sent in care of Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
