Judith Susan Schmidt,77, was born February 8, 1945 in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Theresia Schmidt Bishop. She grew up in Canton, Kansas, along with her brother Anthony and attended school there.

During her youth, Judith enjoyed spending time with cousin Jackie playing paper dolls, of which she had a huge collection, and churning homemade butter while the women in the family baked bread. She also enjoyed the friendships she shared with Alice, Roberta and Sharon.

In her later years, Judith resided in care homes in Haviland and Onaga, Kansas.

She was a devoted sister to her brother Tony and kept in close contact with him throughout the years. She also continued the close relationship with her cousin Jackie, even though they lived many miles apart.

Judith entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Onaga Hospital in Onaga, Kansas after many years of failing health.

She is survived by her brother Tony of Canton; her guardian Kay Smith of Westmoreland, Kansas and numerous cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2022 at Canton Township Cemetery.

Olson's Mortuary, Canton is in charge of arrangements.

Tony would like to express his sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness shown to him at the passing of his sister, especially to cousins Jackie Tucker, Dickie Gage and Doug Loewen.
