Robert Lee "Bob" Green, 94, of McPherson, KS passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at his home in McPherson, Kansas.
Robert was born in Enid, Oklahoma on July 20, 1928, a son of Teresa Mary (May) and Earl Leo Green.
Robert attended Grant County schools, and graduated from Lamont High School, Lamont, Oklahoma in 1946.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church McPherson, Kansas.
Robert spent most of his career in the United States Air Force where he had achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Following his discharge, he worked for Beneficial Finance prior to owning and operating a small insulating business.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 24, McPherson, and the Bass Masters Club of McPherson. Robert enjoyed golfing, fishing, visiting with his friends, and spending time with his family.
Robert L. Green was united in marriage to Joan Kathleen Messall on June 14, 1951 in Enid, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with the birth of five sons, Michael, Mark, Steven, Timothy, and Thomas. The couple moved to McPherson in 1974 from El Dorado, Kansas.
He is survived by his sons Michael Green and Janet, of Towanda, Kansas, Mark Green and wife Jaimie, of Gordon, Texas, Steven Green and wife Sandy, of Greenwood, Missouri, and Timothy Green, of San Francisco, California; his sister-in-law, Sue Green, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; his nine grandchildren, Jason and wife Elizabeth, Ryan and wife Mary, Chad and wife Erin, Nicholas and wife Monica, Matthew, Christopher and wife Adrienne, Thomas and wife Becki, Meghan and husband James, and Alicia; his 14 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Gabriel, Katherine, William, Grace, Henry, Collin, Brady, William, Kinsley, Coleston, Brynna, Kali, and Mielee; other relatives and a host of friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas S. Green; his wife Joan K. Green; and a brother, Earl Franklin Green.
A rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson, Kansas and the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Ben Shockey officiating.
Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado, Kansas with Father John Lanzwrath officiating. Military honors will be presented.
