Ronald D. “Frosty” Clegg, age 89, died Sat., March 27, 2021 at the Jewell Co. Hospital, Mankato, KS. He was born on March 21, 1932 in Mankato, KS to Chester T. & Viola I. (Stedman) Clegg.
Frosty grew up in Mankato, KS with 12 brothers and sisters. At age 12 he had his first job setting up bowling pins at the Mankato Bowling Alley. He was a carpenter, trained by his father and specializing in finishing work. He joined the National Guard for six years. His hobbies included motorcycles, tinkering on small engines and mowing the Mankato City Park.
He married Gladys Miller on Aug. 4, 1950 and to this union was born three children, Michael, Patricia and Mari. He later married Joan Golden and she preceded him on Nov. 15, 1998.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Helbach (Hilton), Hope & Mari Tyler, Beloit; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Sharon Hunter (Bill), Denver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Clegg; wife, Joan; five sisters and six brothers and one grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 2,2021 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, KS with Pastor Thaddeus Hinkle officiating. The family suggests memorials to the Mankato City Park in care of the funeral home.
