HILLSBORO - Esther M. Funk, age 86, passed away July 13, 2021, at Bethesda Home, Goessel, Kansas. She was born April 9, 1935, near Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Ratzloff) Frantz.

She was a graduate of Tampa High School. On September 9, 1954, she was united in marriage to Eldon R. Funk. She was a church secretary for many years.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel and David Frantz, and great-grandson Caleb Eckhart.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Eldon of Hillsboro; her sons: Gerald (Carolyn) of Salina; Donovan (Pati) of Hillsboro; and Bryan of Beatrice, NE; her daughter: Janice (Delton) Voth of rural Goessel; her siblings: Leonard (Jan) Frantz of Hillsboro; Jonas (Kim) Frantz of Tampa; and sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Frantz of Tampa; and Delores Frantz of Durham; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The visitation with family will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Jost Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, with the burial to be held at 1:00 p.m., at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Hillsboro, followed by the Celebration Life Service at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro.

Memorial funds have been establish for Bethesda Home or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Jost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 266, Hillsboro, KS, 67063.
