Dirt bike, ATV among items stolen from SW Salina storage unit

Approximately $7,000 worth of items were stolen from a storage facility in southwest Salina earlier this week.

Jacob Saum, 31, of Salina, was notified by the owner of the storage facility in the 2700 block of Centennial that someone had broken into the unit he rents, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The thief went through an adjoining unit to get to Saum's unit.

The theft occurred sometime between Monday and Thursday.

Forrester said that among the items taken were the following.

●A silver and black 2005 Yamaha XT 225 dirt bike with a Kansas license plate of 73FFE, valued at $3,000

●A blue 2005 Yamaha Raptor 660 ATV, valued at $3,000

●A JL 500 watt mono block vintage car stereo amplifier from the 1990s, valued at $400

●Other electronics valued at $600
