Police are investigating the theft of antiques and jewelry from a southwest Salina residence.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this afternoon that sometime on Tuesday or Wednesday, someone broke a window on the back door of a residence in the 3000 block of Canterbury and stole $2,400 worth of miscellaneous jewelry and antiques. The owner, a 69-year-old Gypsum man, told police that someone had taken the items and ransacked the residence.

Damage to the door was estimated at $100, Forrester noted.
