Salina Fire crews extinguish two-garage fire in North Salina

On Friday evening at approximately 7:53 p.m. Salina Fire crews responded to a two-garage fire in North Salina.

According to Salina Fire Battalion Chief Derrick Herzog, the fire engulfed two garage units near the backyard of a home in the 1000 Block of N. 10th Street in Salina.

Residents in the area where the fire occurred said they heard a large explosion shortly before 8 p.m. When they came outside to see what happened, they saw flames across the street that were taller than the one-story home near the garages.

Herzog said there were no injuries as a result of the fire.
