Kansas man dies after Jeep crash and fire

CLAY COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 10a.m. Sunday in Clay County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Jeep Wrangler driven by  Wesley E. Alexander, 63, Lenexa, was eastbound on U.S. 24 ten miles west of Clay Center.

The Jeep traveled into the north ditch, struck a farm access drive and a tree before coming to rest on its driver side. The Jeep then became fully engulfed in flames.

Alexander was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Neill Swenson Funeral Home. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
