Law enforcement located an explosive device at Indian Rock Park on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on Sunday at around 3:30 pm, a parent and their child in the area of Indian Rock Park found to what appeared to be a homemade device that had a fuse attached on it and powder residue.
SPD was contacted and officers responded to the scene, securing off the area. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit from Riley County arrived to the scene and found the device had been ignited, but failed to explode.
The device was dismantled and therefore rendered neutral.
SPD did not state of any possible suspects at this time.
