One hospitalized after SUV crash on icy I-70

SALINE COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 10:30 a.m. Monday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Ford Expedition driven by Rochelle C. Tsosie, 33, Red Oak, Okla., was westbound on Interstate 70 just west of Halstead Road.

The SUV was traveling too fast on the icy roadway and the driver lost control.

The SUV entered the north ditch between the highway and the on ramp to westbound from Halstead Road and struck a KDOT sign.

EMS transported a passenger Cody A. Brown, 32 , Wilberton, OK., to Salina Regional Health Center. Tsosie was not injured. Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
