Walter Lee Hundley
January 13, 1930 ~ March 11, 2024

Walter Lee Hundley, 94, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024, with loving family by his side.  He had been living with his grandson, Kyle and his wife, Andrea, in McPherson for the past 18 months.

He was born on January 13, 1930, in Olney, IL, the son of Edward & Ida Hundley.  He graduated from high school in Noble, IL. On June 22, 1955, Walter was united in marriage to Lulubelle “Lou” Goble in Olney, IL.   Walter and Lou were married for 62 years prior to Lou’s passing on September 14, 2017. 

Walter worked at the Poehler Wholesale Grocery and McPherson Wastewater Treatment Plant. Following retirement from the Wastewater Treatment Plant, he worked at Moondance Tree Farm.  

He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #24.

Survivors include: three children, Mary Summerlin (Wylie) of Inman, KS, Dale Hundley (Susan) of Hotchkiss, CO, and Jeannie Werner (John) of McPherson, KS; daughter-in-law, Amber Stucky (Gary) of McPherson, KS; siblings, Marjorie Field of Effingham, IL, Henry Hundley of Noble, IL, and Rosa Stanley of Dawson, IL; four grandchildren, Michelle Hundley (James McArtor), Chans Hundley, Jess Taylor (Kevin Blackwell), and Kyle Hundley (Andrea); eight great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sons, John Hundley and Neal Hundley; and granddaughter, Kirsten Hundley.

The visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 18, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
