On Wednesday evening a 44-year-old Salina woman was allegedly slashed by an unknown suspect in central Salina.
Salina Police Sergeant Kyle Tonniges said this morning that at approximately 7:56 a.m. Thursday, a Salina woman approached the Dollar General located at 511 E. Iron Street with apparent cut wounds on her.
"The female reported that the previous evening at about 10 o'clock, she was outside Dollar General when she was assaulted by an unknown male. And this male had a knife and at one point she was cut with this knife before she was able to escape," Tonniges said.
The victim described the suspect as a black male in his 50s or 60s. She also noted that she did not know the suspect.
"She had cuts to her hands, chest, and face. She was seen by medics but she didn't want to get transported to the hospital," Tonniges said.
