Bobby (Bob) Marvin Allen was born October 1, 1935, in rural Clyde. Bobby was the fifth child of Vern Murray and Mary B. (Walker) Allen’s 11 children. On June 28, 2021, Bob departed this earthly life.
He attended country school until the family moved to Concordia, where he attended high school.
On May 25, 1956, he was united in marriage to Eva Robbins. Together they made their home in Concordia. To this union five children were born: David, Cindy, Ron, Michael (Bub), and Kenny.
Bob worked many years at Quartzite Stone in Concordia. The family then moved to Beloit, where Bob worked for Holloway Wholesale and Topeka Motor Freight. In 1970, the couple returned to Concordia, where Bob returned to work at Quartzite Stone. From 1977 until his retirement in 2004, Bob worked as a shear operator for Combustion Engineering. Upon retirement, Bob continued to spend time with and enjoy his family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters: Marge McNeil, Margaret Brown, Marilyn Waters, Sharon Chritton, and Freda Predmore; five brothers: Jim, Harold, LaVern, Darrell, Larry, and great-grandson Maurice Robinson.
He is survived by his wife Eva of the home; children David, Cindy Dunlap, Ron (Kim), Michael (Ann), Kenny (Jennie), all of Concordia; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was a devoted family man who cared for his wife, children, foster children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his quiet but strong influence.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Brad Stuefen officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2201 at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Meadowlark Hospice or to the family to be determined at a later date in care of the funeral home.
