Mary Lou Shelton, Jewell

Mary Lou Shelton was born on May 14, 1938 in Jewell, Kansas, the daughter of Richard “Gerald” and Eva Thompson Mahin. She died early Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Downs Care and Rehab Center at the age of 84.
She was married to and preceded in death by husband Robert Shelton.
Mary Lou loved to cook and bake. She loved sharing her treats with neighbors, friends, and family. She also got special joy cooking with her grandchildren. Throughout her life, she cared for friends and family who were sick or elderly.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her son Michael Shamburg in infancy; and her granddaughter Elizabeth Shamburg in infancy.
She is survived by her sons Curtis and wife Dee Shamburg of Portis, Kevin and wife Joleta Shamburg of Salina, and Kirby and wife Colleen Shamburg of Randall, special sister-in-law Gloria Hanson of Concordia; grandchildren Jeffrey, Bryan, Adam, Erica, Richard, Lucan, Caiten, Dacie, Vanan, Mica, Ellivia, and Tullar as well as stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23 at the Jewell Christian Church. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. with family present from 5-6 p.m. Friday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
Memorials may be given to the Church or Beloit American Legion.
