Police investigating burglary at collision repair shop

Police are investigating a burglary at a north Salina collision repair shop this past weekend.

Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus reported this morning that sometime between 5:30 p.m. Friday and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, someone broke into Bennett-Warta Collision Repair, 333 North Ohio Street, via a vent into the building. Damage to the vent system was estimated at $500, he noted.

While a comprehensive list of missing items is being compiled, items known to be missing at this time include the following, Hanus explained.

•A socket set valued at $300

•An Imperial Metric Wrench set valued at $300

•Two spray paint guns with a combined value of $675

The investigation is ongoing, he added.
