🎙️ Love thy Neighbor: Catholic Charities of Northern Kansas serving the community in many ways

Catholic Charities of Northern Kansas (CCNK) strives to meet the needs of the community by loving their neighbor as themselves.

The organization has three offices in Salina, Hays and Manhattan, serving 31 counties in north-central and north-western Kansas, covering 26,000 square miles.

“We are serving because we want to reflect our Catholic faith to the community, but we are here to serve everyone,” said Executive Director/CEO, Megan Robl.

CCNK provides a variety of resources and needs for the community that include:

- Gas Vouchers & Bus Passes (Salina and Hays only

- Counseling services

"We help anyone and anyway we can," said Jeree Hughbanks, Communications Manager.

Furthermore, Melissa Herrera (Emergency Assistance Coordinator) will be featured in a nationwide storytelling traveling museum by Catholic Charities USA called People of Hope: Faith-Filled Stories of Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

The traveling museum stops at other Catholic Charities across the nation, and it will stop in Kansas at the Salina location sometime in 2027, between July and November.

Her story about how an experience working with a local man named Michael, has impacted her life will be shared.

CCNK will also be holding a fundraiser, the "Green Tie Celebration" by bringing together friends, supporters, and community members who share a commitment to serving others across northern Kansas.

The evening begins with a social hour featuring complimentary wine and beer, followed by dinner, inspiring testimonials and a live auction.

Volunteer opportunities are available as well for anyone who is willing to help with various tasks.

CCNK also has thrift stores in its Salina and Hays locations. The organization offers selections of high-quality, second-hand goods at affordable prices.
