Salina law enforcement are searching for a suspect connected to a stolen vehicle.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on April 28 at around 7:45 pm, an officer received a FLOCK alert for a reported stolen vehicle out of Lindsborg that was stated to be in the area of 12th and Bishop in Salina.
The vehicle was identified as a white 2005 KIA Optima.
The officer located a vehicle similar to the stolen vehicle in the area of Montrose and College in Salina.
As the officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle, it began accelerating and proceeded to run a stop sign at Charles and Phillips in Salina.
The officer then activated their emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop and the vehicle continued to accelerate. The vehicle then drove into a driveway near downtown Salina.
The driver then exited the vehicle and ran away, but left the vehicle in drive. As a result, the vehicle struck a fence in the area.
A witness in the area described the driver as so:
White male, approximately 5’9” and wearing a white tank top.
The suspect was carrying several bags.
It was determined the vehicle was stolen from Lindsborg on April 26, according to SPD.
SPD stated that a possible suspect has been identified.
