Obituary | Amy R. Cleveland of Minneapolis, Kansas | Wilson Family Funeral Home

February 24, 1973 - August 15, 2022

Amy R. Cleveland, 49, Minneapolis, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, surrounded by her family. Amy was born February 24, 1973, in Concordia to Terry and Kathy (Fabrizius) Cleveland.

Amy was raised in Minneapolis and was a 1991 graduate of Minneapolis High School. She then attended Kansas State University where she earned her bachelor of science in business administration and a master’s degree in accounting.

Amy then moved to Virginia where she worked as a certified public accountant at the United States Department of Justice in Washington, DC.  Amy also worked as a staff accountant for a few different firms before landing her final job in 2004 as a senior accountant for the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine in Washington, DC for 18 years.

Amy embraced and loved life and ALL people. She loved to travel throughout the U.S. for New Kids on the Block concerts, tennis tournaments in Cincinnati yearly, and Broadway shows in New York City. Amy also loved traveling the seas on the New Kids cruises as well as abroad; in particular, France was her favorite.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Kenny Cleveland; maternal grandfather Herman Fabrizius; maternal aunt Mich (Fabrizius) Fiske; and her beloved childhood dog Boomer.

Survivors are her mother and stepfather Kathy and Marty Nash; father and stepmother Terry and Deanna Cleveland; brother Aaron Cleveland; grandmothers Leona Fabrizius and Barbara Cleveland; step-grandmother Alice Cleveland; stepbrothers Marty and Danitra Nash and their children, Ellis and Rudy; and Dustin Inskeep and his family; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

A celebration of Amy’s life with reception will begin at 11:00 a.m.., Saturday, September 10, at the Farm and the Oddfellows, 205 W. Second St., Minneapolis.

Memorials may be made to the M.H.S. Alumni Scholarship Fund for an accounting scholarship to be made in Amy’s name and may be mailed to Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
