GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Kansas Wesleyan Men's Indoor Track capped its exceptional season with three NAIA All-America performances at the NAIA Men's Track and Field National Championships.
The 4x800m relay team had an outstanding performance in the finals of the event, finishing fourth with a time of 7:38.46. The group of Ty Davidson, Wyatt Johnson, Triston Cottone and Julian Avila earned their third straight NAIA All-America honor with the performance, twice indoors and once outdoors. In the preliminaries, the group set a new school record with a time of 7:35.58.
Julian Avila earned NAIA All-America honors with a seventh place finish in the 1000m. Avila finished with a time of 2:26.91. In the preliminary round, Avila set a new school record for the event with a time of 2:26.61.
Damion Jackson placed eighth in the finals of the 3000m with a new school record time of 8:25.13.
Also participating in the NAIA National Championships was Keegan Lott, earning a 15th place finish in the shot put with a mark of 15.65m.
The Distance Medley Relay team of Austin Schaeffer, Nate Chavez, Nicolas Martinez, and Damion Jackson finished 26th in the preliminary round with a time of 10:47.10.
