The Southeast of Saline Trojans fall to the Sacred Heart Knights by a final score of 60-51 tonight, snapping their three game winning streak.

With this loss, SES drops to 7-6 while Sacred Heart advances to 7-3 on the year.

While the score reflects a close game, the Trojans played with very little energy, something head Coach Bryson Flax said began before the game even tipped off.

“It was tough to watch and tough to coach in,” he said. “There wasn’t a lot of energy from the start and some of the things we talked about at practice didn’t translate, that’s on me.”

SES got 17 points from both Camden Spano-Lund and Eli Harris tonight, but were unable to find much production elsewhere with the rest of the team combining to score just 17 more points.

On the Sacred Heart side, four players, Alex Disberger, Jacob Gormley, Mason Richards and Caleb Gilliland, all notched double digits in the win.

At the half, both teams had just three turnovers, a mark that Sacred Heart would match in the second half. Southeast however, turned the ball over ten times in the second half, limiting their scoring opportunities.

“Those possessions are killers because we couldn’t get to the line and we settled for jumpers all night,” Flax said. Our unwillingness to attack the rim is a result of that.”

SES will have a chance to get back on track when they host the 3-5 Chapman Fighting Irish on Friday.
