Kansas Wesleyan closed out its 2021 men's soccer season with a 3-1 win over No. 25 ranked McPherson on Senior Day on Saturday night at the Graves Family Sports Complex.

All four goals scored in the match came in the second half as the Coyotes exploded for three goals before McPherson got on the board.

Wesleyan's first goal came on a penalty in the 53rd minute as Alfonso Lopez (JR/Fontana, Calif.) converted the penalty for the Coyotes.

In the 61st minute the Coyotes lit the lamp again. Lopez again had a hand in the goal, as he picked off a McPherson pass and dribbled into the box drawing out the keeper. He then passed back to a wide open Ivis Gutierrez (SR/Los Angeles, Calif.) who tapped it in making it 2-0.

Israel Good (FR/Beaumont, Calif.) capped the Coyotes' scoring barrage in the 65th minute with a goal.

McPherson got its lone tally of the match in the 70th minute from Daniel Connell, off a double assist by Marcus Fernandez and Antoine Detavernier.

Lopez led the Coyotes with five shots as KWU outshot McPherson 15-12 in the match. Oswaldo Diaz-Lopez (FR/Bryan, Texas) had four saves in goal for the Coyotes.

Wesleyan completes its season at 5-12-1 overall and 4-8 in the KCAC under first-year coach LeBaron Hollimon.
