Rodger Joyce Romberger was born July 27, 1946, in Clay Center, KS, the son of

J.W. and Gladys (Greep) Romberger. He graduated from Chapman High School in 1964 then attended Kansas State University 1 ½ years. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Annapolis and the USS Chesterfield during the Vietnam War. He served active duty from 1966 to 1969, then served in the Naval Reserve until his honorable discharge in 1972. He married Judy Lowry and they later divorced. He was a meter reader and a power plant employee for Westar Energy until his retirement at the age of 70.

He died peacefully after a lengthy illness at Bethany Home in Lindsborg, KS, on August 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Gladys Romberger; brother, Nelson Romberger; and sister, Debra Romberger. He is survived by his brother, Richard (Dee) Romberger, Abilene, KS; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 from 5-7pm at Danner Funeral Home in Abilene. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Talmage Community Church, Talmage, KS, on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 10:30am.
