11-year-old injured in north-central Kansas rear-end crash

CLOUD COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 6p.m. Sunday in Cloud County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Michaela M. Lopez, 44, Fairbury, Nebraska, was northbound on U.S. Highway 81 just south of Gold Road. 

The van rear-ended a 1995 Ford F350 driven by Charles Hansen, 65, Concordia.

EMS transported one passenger in the van Alexander J. Lopez, 11, Fairbury, Nebraska, to North Central Kansas Medical Center.  Michaela Lopez and a 9-year-old girl in the van had minor injuries. The patrol did not report where they were treated. Hansen was not wearing a seat belt and not injured, according to the KHP.
