Leota Fowles 94 died September 5, 2020 in Clay Center, KS. She was born on November 17, 1925 in Clay Center, KS, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Bauer) Friederich. Leota was raised in Clay County and was a Class of 1944 graduate from CCCHS. She married Wallace Fowles on March 20, 1945. They made their home and farmed west of Clay Center. In 1964 they moved their home to Clay Center. Leota owned and operated Fowles Fabrics from 1971 to 1992. Wallace preceded her in death on July 17, 2003. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and the Stillwater Livewire club. Leota was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Coleen Terry; sisters, Anita Friederich, Gladys Trumpp and Wilma Trumpp; brother, Armin Friederich
