Posted Jul 13, 2021 2:06 PM

Are you nearing age 65 or helping senior parents navigate the Medicare maze?

K-State Research and Extension is offering a free, educational, Medicare Basics: New to Medicare workshop online via Zoom on July 20 at 6:30 p.m.

Learn the basics of Medicare, including eligibility, how and when to apply, costs, what is covered by the various parts, and how to fill the gaps. Programs available to assist low-income individuals will also be discussed. Anyone interested in learning more about the Medicare maze would benefit from the program, particularly those who are nearing age 65 or who help aging parents with insurance and financial matters.

The program is presented by extension educator Deb Wood, CFP®, Central Kansas Extension District, and local SHICK counselor.

Registration is required to obtain the Zoom link to participate in the program. Register online at https://bit.ly/720MedBasics. This same program will be offered again on August 30 and September 21. Flyers for all three programs and links to register can be found on the  Central Kansas District website at www.centralkansas.ksu.edu, or call 785-309-5850.
