The gloomy weather we have been experiencing is going away for a bit.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita, the rain will exit southern Kansas this morning with sunshine returning this afternoon. High temperatures are expected to be around 50 degrees across the area.
It will not be as cool on Friday with high temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s across central and eastern Kansas, NWS noted. That trend is forecast to continue through the weekend.
