If you've driven by the law enforcement center recently, you may have noticed a large boom truck in the parking lot.

After pouring the base a couple of weeks ago, workers on Wednesday began erecting a communication tower as a part of the city and county emergency communication project. 

The tower is located at the southeast corner of the Salina Municipal Court part of the complex on N. 10th Street.

The tower is similar to the one at Salina Fire Station No. 3, 2633 Belmont Boulevard, according to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester.
