
Alan Dean Rickard, 60, was called to heaven August 6, 2021. His strong will to live, the love and prayers of family and friends sustained him throughout his cancer battle. Alan was known for his love of music, air guitar skills, and riding his Harley.
Alan was a truck driver. He hauled everything from cows and salt to pizza and vegetables. He also worked at the Salina Journal.
Alan was born to Gary Lee and Doris “Kay” Rickard, in Scott City, Kansas, on April 18, 1961.
Alan is survived by his fiancé, Mona Cramer; sisters: Lori Kay (Clyde) Billups of Winterhaven, California, and Sue Ann (Javier) Lopez of Platte City, Missouri; children: Dustin J. Chestnutt, Aimee Allen, Justin Cramer, Ethan Hill; grand daughters; Kyla Chestnutt and Kayla Cramer; nieces and nephews: Leanna (Miguel) Garcia, Madison Lopez, and Gabi Lopez, great-nephews Michael, Israel and Judah Garcia. Alan was preceded in death by his parents Gary and Kay Rickard, grandparents Carl and Phebe O’Hair, Roger Strickert, Donna Kay Strickert, and David O’Hair.
A celebration of life will be held at the Knights of Columbus, 115 N. 10th, Salina, Kansas 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021
