Ramon Gil, Sr., 85, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at his home in Lincoln, KS. He was born November 3, 1936, in Havana, Cuba.
Ramon was a firefighter for 25 years in Cuba before moving to the United States.
He married Gladys Lago in Havana on February 14, 1951.
Ramon is survived by his daughter Ana C. Gil of Lincoln; sons Ramon, Jr. and wife Martha of Lincoln, Jose and wife Magaly of Tampa, FL, Miguel and wife Laura of Tampa, and Rene and wife Sandy of Lincoln; daughter Maria C. Gil of Lincoln; 26 grandchildren, including Judy Rosado and Juan, Natalie Rosado Polly and William, Carlos Rosado and Deec, and Sadix Becerra and Jennifer, 36 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Gladys; son Rafale; sister Teresa Gil; brother Pablo Gil; and granddaughter Yeney Rosado Lopez.
Visitation: 9-10 a.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Lincoln.
Funeral mass: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with burial following at Lincoln Cemetery.
