Salina church offering free summer meals and camps for the community

St. John's Missionary Baptist Church in Salina is generously offering FREE summer meals and camps for children in the community.

Now through July 31, St. John's will offer free meals EVERY Friday from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm at the old Western Sizzlin building (1708 W. Crawford). 

According to the church, these meals include breakfast and supper meals provided in bulk to be cooked at home, lasting 5 days.

Moreover, every Monday - Friday through July 31, the church is providing hot lunches from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church (215 S. Chicago Street).

Registration is NOT required for the daily hot lunches.

The free summer camps include:

- Camp HYPE

- MADD Camp

- Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Camp HYPE starts on June 15 - 18 and the following week, June 22 - 26, from 7:30 am - 12:00 pm each day. 

This camp helps the youth understand resources that are available in the community. Agencies/organizations such as Law Enforcement, Boys & Girls Club, Boy & Girl Scouts, Salina Arts & Humanities and much more will educate children about the resources they offer.

MADD (music, art, dance and drama) Camp starts on July 6 - July 10 and the following week, July 13 - 17, from 7:30 am - 12:00 pm each day. 

Camp HYPE and MADD Camp will be available for grades ages 1-8.

VBS will occur on July 27 - July 29 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. All ages are welcome, including adults can attend VBS.

Each of these summer camps will occur at the church.
