JEWELL COUNTY - A small earthquake struck southwest of Mankato Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.9 magnitude quake hit at 2:52 p.m. just northwest of the Jewell County State Park. It was centered under 120 Road just south of K Road.
