Gwendolyn “Gwen” Trost, age 85, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Credo Senior Living, Belleville, KS. She was born on July 17, 1940 in Cuba, KS to Glenn & Adeline (Homolka) Chizek.
She received her GED and was part of the Class of 1958 in Concordia. She was a bookkeeper for Boogaarts and later Walker Veterinary Clinic.
She married Thomas “Tom” Trost on July 12, 1980 in Concordia, KS. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2011.
Gwen was a longtime member of the American Legion Post #76 Ladies Auxiliary for over 60 years. She served as State Auxiliary President, District President, Unit President, assisted heavily with Girls State and held several other offices throughout her volunteer time.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhodonna Marcotte (Kenneth), Holden, MO; sister, Christine Reed, Donna TX and grandchildren, Jay Marcotte, Brian Marcotte (Fallon), Steven McGinley (Mandy) and Jamie May (Aaron) and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; daughter, Kimberly McGinley & brother, Keith Chizek.
It was Gwen’s wishes to be cremated. The family will hold a celebration of Life at the American Legion Post #76, Concordia, KS at a later date. Gwen will be buried with Tom at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, KS on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
