KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The 2021-22 Fort Hays State wrestling team has been picked to finish third in the MIAA according to the league coaches, announced Friday by the league office.
Nebraska-Kearney, ranked second nationally in the NWCA poll, is listed atop the conference poll after picking up all four possible first-place votes. Central Oklahoma, the No. 4-ranked team in the country, is second after receiving the final top vote, just three points in front of Fort Hays State. Newman and Central Missouri round out the poll in fourth and fifth, respectively.
The Tigers finished 2-1 in conference duals a year ago, their first winning record against league competition since 2014-15. Fort Hays State had a pair of wrestlers earn second team All-MIAA honors a year ago, including Mason Turner and A.J. Cooper.

Conference dual season will commence in late January before the Tigers host Central Oklahoma (Feb. 5) and Nebraska-Kearney (Feb. 11) in early February.
