A City of Salina pickup that was stolen over the weekend was recovered Monday, however power tools that also were stolen are still missing.

Sometime between 11 a.m. Saturday and 6:30 a.m. Monday, someone broke into the city's maintenance building at Sunset Park and stole a yellow 2007 Ford F150 pickup, valued at $8,000, and a number of power tools, valued at $5,000, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.

Entry was made when someone kicked in a walk-through door. Additionally, two overhead garage doors were damaged. Total damage was estimated at $2,000.

On Monday afternoon, officers were sent to the 600 block of S. 12th Street, where someone in that block reported that the city pickup was parked in front of his residence, Forrester said. It had been parked there sometime between 2:30-7 a.m. Monday.

The stolen tools have yet to be found, Forrester added.
