Following a fruitful 2020 campaign, the Bennington Bulldog football team is off to another hot start in 2021.
Bennington will enter the back half of their season at 3-1, defeating Washington County in overtime and falling by just 18 points at the hands of the #1 ranked Canton-Galva Eagles.
In their three wins, the Bulldog offense has averaged 47 points per game while their defense has allowed just 23.
Bennington also accounts for 75% of the points given up all season by Canton-Galva, a 4-0 buzzsaw that has outscored their opponents by a combined total of 220-58.
The Bulldogs will have another big test this week when they travel to Solomon to face their cross-county rivals in the 3-1 Gorillas.
Their road won’t get much easier after that as the team will return home to face 4-0 #3 ranked Little River, before traveling to 2-1 Lincoln.
Bennington will finish their regular season at home against a struggling 0-3 Herington, which could prove to be a timely boost heading into week nine ahead of the 2021 playoffs.
