WICHITA – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) and Barnes & Noble College are pleased to announce that seven Kansas Wesleyan women's soccer student-athletes have been named 2021-22 KCAC Scholar-Athletes.
Barnes & Noble College is the official sponsor of KCAC Scholar-Athlete and Scholar Team awards, and is the official campus bookstore and course material provider of the KCAC.
Avery Smith (SO/Leawood), Tyler Goodwin (SR/Covina, Calif.), Alex Liles (SO/Salina), Diana Lara (SR/Salina), Allison Magni, Daisy Bingham (SR/Huntington Beach, Calif.) and Allison Blumenthal (SO/Temecula, Calif.) all earned the award.
Avila and Saint Mary tied for the most athletes receiving this honor, with 16 scholar-athletes each on their teams. Oklahoma Wesleyan was not far behind with 15 honorees, followed by Friends with 13, and Southwestern and Tabor, both with 12. Bethany and Ottawa also both had double-digit honorees, with each seeing ten athletes earn this distinction. Bethel and York each had nine, with McPherson (eight), Kansas Wesleyan (seven), and Sterling (six) rounding out the list.
The All-KCAC Scholar-Athlete Academic Award recognizes excellence in the classroom by KCAC member student-athletes who are sophomores or above in academic standing at the beginning of the semester in which they compete, carry a minimum 3.250 cumulative GPA at the beginning of the semester in which they compete and must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at the KCAC institution to be eligible.
