Sacred Heart and Minneapolis closed out the second leg of the league match up on Friday. The Lady Knights were off to a hot start and didn’t look back as they defeated the Lady Lions 54-47, and the Knights defeated the Lions 56-38.
The Lady Knights took charge early in the first quarter leading 11-0 at the 4:08 mark, but the Lady Lions tried fighting back as the score after one was 14-6. The second quarter was all Adelyn Lee as she recorded 14 points in the second quarter to be leading at half 31-15.
The Lady Lions would try to claw back at the Lady Knights and got it as close to 7, the Lady Lions never led in the contest. The Knights go into the fourth quarter leading 46-30, it came down to the Lady Knights winning 54-47.
Minneapolis was led in scoring by Bradee Weatherman with 17, Baylee Randall-Hurt was the only other in double digits with 13.
Minneapolis will fall to 9-5 overall on the season and 4-3 in league play
Sacred Heart was lead in scoring by a phenomenal outing in Adelyn Lee, she shot 7 three pointers, she finished with 26. Skylar Douglas finished her night with 14.
Sacred Heart moved to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in league play.
The Lady Knights will host the Lady Lions of Lyons on Tuesday.
On the boys’ side the Knights took a quick lead in the early going and never looked back. The Knights never gave up their lead.
The Knights locked in early with great defense against the Lions, leading by 13 at the end of the first, and expanding that lead to 28-15 at the intermission.
Sacred Heart would stay alive in the third quarter, with many points put on the board for the Knights, five Knights scored in the third.
The Knights shot a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line, six of those coming from Dominic Matteucci. The Knights let off a little in the fourth quarter but came out on top 56-38.
The Minneapolis Lions were led in scoring by Owen Just with 18, Zach Nelson with 7 and Joe Woehl with 6.
The Lions fall to 4-11 overall on the season and 3-5 in League
The Sacred Heart Knights had three shooters go for double digits. Will Tuttle had 14, Noah Hines finished with 13 and Dominic Matteucci with 11.
The Knights stay perfect on the season at 15-0 and 8-0 in League play.
The Knights play host to the Lyons Lions in league play on Tuesday.
