Kansas Wesleyan flag football swept the KCAC Flag Football weekly honors following Sunday's 63-0 win over Cottey College to open the season.

The KCAC Player of the Week program is administered by conference sports information directors

Brianna Hernandez-Silva (JR/Las Vegas, Nev.) was named the Offensive Player of the Week, and Ja'Daa Wilson (FR/Crawfordville, Fla.) was named as the Defensive Player of the Week.

KWU opened its 2022 campaign with a 63-0 win over Cottey College on Sunday.

It was an outstanding performance for Brianna Hernandez-Silva in the season opener for the Coyotes. She accounted for seven of KWU's touchdowns in the game, throwing for six TDs and rushing for another. She also had 219 of KWU's 303 yards of total offense, all while not playing in the fourth quarter on offense.

Wilson was dominant for the KWU defense on Sunday against Cottey. She was a big part of the KWU defense that held Cottey to 76 yards of total offense and did not allow Cottey to cross midfield the entire game. She had two flag pulls to go along with a pair of pass breakups that included a 40-yard Pick-6.

KWU is back in action on Friday, with two games in Nevada, Mo., against Ottawa at 3 p.m., and against Cottey at 6 p.m.
