Event wins this past weekend from Vimbayi Maisvorewa and Tahisha Thompson at the 2022 Washburn All-Kansas Invite have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors for the CCCC duo.

The honors, which are the first of their respective Cloud County careers, give the T-Birds a clean sweep of the week three KJCCC Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week awards and are the first two women's track and field athlete of the week honors in 2022. Maisvorewa would win the 400 meters in a time of 56.47 before anchoring the winning 4x400 meter relay time of 3:52.88 as both times are national qualifying marks for the 2022 NJCAA Indoor National Championships. The 400-meter time currently ranks fourth in the NJCAA while the 4x400 meter relay team posted the fifth-fastest time in the NJCAA this year.

Thompson would put together a big performance in the weight throw, recording a mark of 15.49 meters (50 ft. - 10 in.) to win the event by over three feet and secure her spot at the 2022 NJCAA Indoor National Championships. The mark currently puts Thompson atop the NJCAA performance list in the weight throw and is one of only two national qualifying marks recorded this season by an NJCAA athlete.
